that they are received by the European College of Parma by
31 August 2004 at the e-mail address info@colleuparma.org,
and that the hard copy of the entire required
documentation is sent by post or express courier and
received no later than 6 September 2004.

not send scanned documents).

The first Advanced Diploma in
European Studies (ADES) course was officially inaugurated by
Professor Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission,
on 27 September 2003.
Course
The course takes one academic
year and is divided into two full-time semesters from
October to June, totalling 380 hours.
Examinations take place in February and June.
Attendance of lectures and participation in activities organised
by the College are compulsory.
Lectures are held in Italian, English
and French.
Students who have obtained the
ADES diploma may also be awarded an In-depth Advanced
Diploma in European Studies (I-ADES)
by submitting a final dissertation on a European issue which
they have drafted under the guidance of one of the College’s
professors.
Lectures and Conferences
Lectures and conferences are given by leading European and
international personalities. During the 2003/04 academic year,
guest lecturers at the European College–Parma included
Romano Prodi, the President of the European Commission, Giuliano
Amato, the former Prime Minister of Italy and Vice-President
of the European Convention, Mario Monti, the European Commissioner
responsible for Competition Policy, Jorge De Oliveira e Sousa,
the European Commission Director-General for Press and Communication,
and Oreste Montalto, the Director of the Legal Department of
OHIM in Alicante.
Language Courses
The month of October is entirely
given over to intensive language courses (Italian,
English and French) to enable students to cope with the various
courses and to provide them with suitable language training
in the fields of law, economics and political studies.
Over the academic year, students may improve their language
skills further by following extensive language courses.
Admission
The Advanced Diploma in European Studies is designed mainly
for young graduates from EU and non-EU member countries holding
university degrees in economic, legal, political and social
fields.
Applications
Applications should be sent by post or delivered by hand to
reach the European College – Parma no later than
31 August 2004.
Selection and Admission
An ad hoc Selection Committee will assess applications on the
basis of the qualifications presented by the applicants.
The Committee may call applicants to an interview.
Admission to the course is dependent on the decision of the
Selection Committee, which shall be final.
Course Fees
Fees for the Diploma course in Advanced European Studies for
the 2004/05 academic year amount to €13 000.00. This covers
the course fees and board, lodging and transport in Parma.
Scholarships
Scholarships are also available for a number of applicants.
Scholarships will be awarded by the Selection Committee on the
basis of funds available, once all applications have been processed.
Special Benefits
Students enrolled in the European College Diploma course will
qualify for special concessions during their stay in Parma under
agreements with local services (banks and leisure activities).
